Crab (Ucides cordatus)
Measuring 10 meters from claw to claw, the “giant crab” can be visited in the central square of Shangri-lá, in Pontal do Paraná. The sculpture pays tribute to the “Caranguejo Uçá” (mangrove crab), abundant in the region, and is a reference to the “Festival do Caranguejo” (Crab Festival), a traditional summer event in Pontal do Paraná.
Leatherback Turtle (Demochelys coriacea)
The “Giant Turtle” sculpture is 9.75 m wide and pays tribute to the largest sea turtle species in the world, “Dermochelys coriacea”. Also known as the “giant turtle” or “leatherback turtle”, the species has chosen the beaches of Pontal do Paraná to lay its eggs in several years. Four nesting seasons have been recorded, with Pontal do Sul being the place in the municipality with the largest number of nests.


White Shrimp (Liropenaeus schmitti)
On the seafront of Praia de Leste, in Pontal do Paraná, stands the impressive white shrimp sculpture (Litopenaeus scmitti). Made of iron coated with concrete on a reinforced base, the work symbolizes the importance of shrimp to the local economy, as one of the region's main fishing products. The sculpture has become a must-see attraction, drawing visitors to take photos and learn about the fishing culture of Pontal do Paraná. Its seafront location also reflects the city's deep connection with the sea and its riches, and it pays tribute to the beach district that hosts the “Camacho - Festa do Camarão e do Chope” (Shrimp and Draft Beer Festival), a traditional event in the municipality.
Snook (Centropomus undecimalis)
On the banks of the Guaraguaçu River, the Snook sculpture (Centropomus parallelus) has become a new tourist landmark in the region, celebrating the local fishing tradition and the preservation of the species. Standing 4 meters tall with a circumference of 2 meters, the work symbolizes sport fishing, attracting tourists who want to experience the nature and culture of the area. The sculpture, accompanied by a fishing rod, reinforces the community's bond with the river and its sustainable practices. Besides enhancing the landscape, it is an ideal meeting point for photos and outings, promoting ecotourism and leisure. Burrowing Owl Sculpture
In Santa Terezinha, in Pontal do Paraná, the new burrowing owl sculpture is especially symbolic for the region, as it represents one of the most beloved and characteristic animals of the coast's beaches and restingas (coastal scrublands).
The new artwork was sculpted by the renowned artist Guilherme da Silva Ferreira, better known as Índio Artesão.
