Equestrian Endurance

The Equestrian Endurance event in Pontal do Paraná is nationally renowned for hosting the only active beach track for this discipline in Brazil. It is an endurance competition in which horse and rider cover long distances, always putting the animal's welfare first.

Pontal do Paraná has become a hub for the sport, as part of the Paraná Equestrian Endurance Championship and the Adventure and Nature Games (JAN).

Expected date: the local stage usually takes place in July.

Venue: the races take place mainly in Barrancos.

Categories: from entry-level races (10 km and 20 km) to the "Endurinho" for children, as well as longer professional routes.

What is Equestrian Endurance? It is an equestrian discipline that tests the physical and mental endurance of horse and rider. During the race, the horse goes through mandatory veterinary inspections (vet-checks) to monitor its heart rate and signs of fatigue; if the animal is not in ideal condition, the pair is disqualified.

The competition in Pontal do Paraná is considered unique because the sandy terrain offers a distinctive technical challenge and a setting that is rare on the world circuit, comparable to races held on the French Riviera.
