Caiçara Food Festival
The event celebrates the traditional cuisine of the Paraná coast, starring Cambira, a dish made with dried and smoked mullet, served with pirão (a cassava flour porridge) and banana.
How the festival works: rather than a party in a single venue, the festival is a food circuit spread across several establishments in the city.
Participating restaurants: around 40 establishments usually join the circuit, offering everything from the traditional recipe to modern takes on the typical dish.
Cooking contest: one of the most anticipated moments is the competition that chooses the best recipes in categories such as "Cambira Tradicional" (Traditional Cambira), "PF Caiçara" (Caiçara set meal) and "Petisco Caiçara" (Caiçara snack).
Cambira Day: officially celebrated on July 18, with workshops and special activities dedicated to valuing this cultural heritage.
What to try: besides the main dish, the festival highlights mullet fishing, which takes place from May to July and supplies restaurants with fresh fish for a variety of dishes. You will find options ranging from quick snacks to full dinners, celebrating ingredients such as seafood, cassava flour and regional spices.
